Getting in a motor vehicle crash is a major event for individuals in Colorado and elsewhere. While most are concerned about the injuries and damages that befall on them following a collision, others may be focused on the potential charges he or she may face because of it. For the most part, car accident occur when a motorist violates a traffic law. And if a driver is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol following a car crash, it is important to consider what options they have to assert a defense against such charges.

According to recent reports, a Colorado Springs woman is facing several charges following a crash that badly injured a man. Based on reports, the incident occurred after law enforcement was attempting to pull over the female driver. During this attempt, the woman allegedly collided with two vehicles before striking a man that was outside of his vehicle on the side of the street. This man was badly injured in the crash and was transported to the hospital.

The female driver was charged with vehicular assault, DUI, reckless driving and driving under restraint charges. Upon initial investigation, authorities found that this was not the driver’s first DUI arrest. It is not clear if the woman has prior DUI convictions on her record.

Facing a DUI can be a very overwhelming experience. It can also be confusing just how much this charge could impact the accused. Thus, it is important to gain information and legal guidance in these matters. This not only helps one develop a defense against the allegations but it also help the accused reduce and even dismiss the charges against them.
